Warranty, returns and refunds
All YOLO products come with a 12-month warranty, valid from date of purchase. YOLO warrants that this product is free from defects in material and workmanship. We will replace any defective product or part at no charge to you, the customer, provided that the product has been installed and used in accordance with instructions and within reason.
This warranty is null and void should the product have any damage resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, improper installation or neglect. We will also not warrant any product that has been altered, modified or tampered with in any way.
If any product arrives to you defective or damaged we will arrange for collection of the item and will either send a replacement or issue a full refund.
You are responsible for return shipping charges unless the reason for the return is due to an error on our part.
If you have had a change of heart and have decided not to use your YOLO, we will accept your returned item and will refund your order – excluding shipping costs – within 14 days of delivery to you. The product must be in its original condition and packaging. In the event that a returned order has any packaging, accessories, or other items missing, the return may be refused, or we may deduct the value of any of the missing items.
We would appreciate if you can first contact us by phone or email (not Facebook) to authorise returns.
If you are unsatisfied with a product at any time, please contact us and we will respond with our best resolution.
Care of your YOLO
While the plastic shell of your YOLO Compost Tumbler requires little care, the galvanised steel latches and hinges require maintenance, especially if you live in a coastal location. We recommend brushing dust and dirt from the hinges and regularly spraying a silicone-based lubricant on the hinges and latches.
Originally, the steel frame and central pipe were powder coated. We now use hot-dip galvanising. After a few years, these could rust (especially the central pipe which is always exposed to damp material), especially in coastal locations. These can be stripped and re-galvanised by your local galvanising company. We stock replacement fittings.
The plastic used to make the compost tumbler shell is a high-quality, UV-stabilised polyethlyene. Like water tanks, this plastic can withstand sun and will last for well over a decade, but, as with anything left in the sun, it will suffer the sun’s effects over time. Even so, its lifespan will be in excess of 20 years. We recommend putting your YOLO in a location with half-day sun, especially in winter, using the sun’s warmth to boost the composting process but striking a middle ground in terms of sun exposure.
