After a high composting output this past summer, I feel like I’ve been hibernating through winter. Without grass cuttings, my volume of ‘green’ material has seemed dismal. I have supplemented my kitchen waste with that from my neighbour. In a bag of cuttings that she recently gave me were a pile of veggies that were way past their sell-by date. As I have very little food waste at home, I tend to forget about the volume of food that is wasted – in general.
Reducing food waste and composting what waste you generate is a good resolution to put into practice.
This is an interesting article from The Guardian on cutting back on food waste and composting.
